Welcome Back

Welcome back, Discovery Families! We are excited to start another school year. During the months of August and September, the PTO has their annual membership and direct donation campaigns. Both drives provides vital funds that allows the PTO to pay for educational resources for students, improvments to the school, and helps teachers purchase materials for their classrooms.
By joining the PTO, you not only help us meet our financial goals, it gives you a voice at our meetings. Only PTO members are allowed to vote at our meetings where we vote on our budget, PTO officers and on other issues that are brought to us by faculty and administration. Our first meeting will be September 18 at 7:00. We hope to see you there.
After feedback from parents, the PTO has tried to eliminate traditional door-to-door selling fundraisers and has switched to direct donation. With direct donations, we are able to keep 100% of the proceeds and ALL donations are tax-deductible! Many employers will also match donations. The PTO spends on average $35 per students- please help us meet our goal of $20,000 so we can continuing bringing valuable educational opportunities to our children!
Finally, we know not everyone is able to contribute financially, but we still have many programs that you can participate in that will help the school. Clipping Box Tops, linking your grocery cards to Harris Teeter and Giant, or participating in Shoparoo are all ways you can help the school earn money and does not cost you a dime.
