What is the PTO?
The Discovery Elementary PTO is organized to support and benefit the education of students at Discovery Elementary.  Members of the PTO are the parents and teachers of Discovery students who are committed to making Discovery the best it can be. The Discovery Elementary PTO organizes fundraising efforts and works to improve our students' educational experience through specific initiatives:
 
Student Enrichment
First and foremost we are here to enhance the education of the students of Discovery.   Each year, the PTO provides enrichment funds to help cover costs of supplies and resources for the administration, grade level teachers, and special programs.
 
Classroom and Teacher Support 

The Discovery PTO provides a number of programs and support initiatives throughout the year.  Each year we support, Study Island, Brain Pop and Teacher Appreciation Week.  We also support Books in the classroom for Independent Reading and the annual Dare Program.

Community Building Events
The Discovery PTO organizes several community building events throughout the year in conjunction with our PTO General Membership Meetings.  These events provide fun activities for the entire family to share while providing students with an educational experience outside of the classroom.
  
 

PTO Mission Statement

  1. Discovery Elementary School and the PTO are ONE. 
  2. We support one another by being ambassadors of good news for our school and one another.
  3. Our purpose is to foster an enthusiastic learning environment for ALL students. 
  4. We will strive to increase parent involvement and facilitate parent teacher communication. 
  5. We will insure that our PTO activities and initiatives engage the Discovery Community.
